❙ Intro: It's Never Too Late
Hello, Radiant Souls!✨ I'm Ayul—over 50 and thrilled to meet you. Today, I’d like to talk about two powerful words: "Starting" and "Coding."
I never learned coding in school, and had never written a single line of code in my life. I used to think coding was only for computer experts. But here I am learning HTML, building my own blog, and feeling more excited than ever.
Age doesn't stop you—doubt does. If you've ever wanted to create something online, now is the perfect time to begin to code.
❙ Why I Chose to Start Learning Coding
I've always loved learning new things, and I was looking for a fresh way to express myself. Blogging felt like a great way to share my thoughts—but I also wanted to understand what happens behind the scenes.
At first, the idea of coding felt tricky. Learning HTML felt scary. But at the moment I wrote my first <h1> tag and saw my title appear on the webpage, I felt so proud. After that littel first success, I wondered why I didn't try to learn this sooner. It was surprisingly, super duper fun!
Now that I'm in my 50s, and my eyesight isn't as sharp as it used to be, and sometimes reading can be uncomfortable. But even with that, I still feel the deep joy in learning new things like blogging or HTML.
Of course, you can blog without knowing how to code, but you can enjoy blogging much more if you know how to code. I'm just an ordinary person. If I can learn to code—you can do it too, and maybe even better than me.
❙ The First Steps I Took
• I opened a Blogger account.
• I started watching short YouTube videos about HTML basics.
• I didn't try to learn everything at once—one small thing a day.
• I practiced using simple tags like <p>, <h1>, and <img>.
• I used Blogger's HTML view to experiment safely.
Each tiny step helped me feel fun and more confident.
❙ What I Learned
• That coding is just like organizing your thoughts.
• That even small changes like changing outlines can be exciting.
• That making mistakes is part of learning—and nothing to be afraid of.
Most of all, I learned that I can still grow, create, and enjoy something totally new.
❙ My Message to You: Be Bold, Be You
• You don't need to be a "tech person."
• You don't need to be young.
• You only need to be yourself—curious, bold, and authentic.
Age is just age. Whether you're 50, 60, 70, 80, or even 90+, this is your time—to explore, to learn, and to build something that's truly your own.
To all of you who love life and keep growing, I give you a big round of applause and all my support.
In the next post, I will introduce you to installing a free coding editor that helps implement HTML and experiment how HTML works through example exercises. Let's learn it together step by step. I hope this post was helpful, and I'll see you soon.
